The ideal location for a relaxing holiday

Le Mas d'en Haut is a beautiful small-scale and child-friendly holiday resort, near a large lake. It is located in the Creuse, only 5 hours from Le Havre and 5 quarters of an hour from Limoges.

Le Mas d'en Haut in short

Welcome to le Mas d 'en Haut. Paula and Willem created a small-scale and child-friendly holiday destination in 2010 on the grounds of a 16th century château and its outbuildings.
Between the stately manor and the tower shop (in the "pigeonnier") is the shady terrace under the lime trees where you can enjoy a cappuccino or a local beer. In the 18th century traditional farmers building "fermette" you'll find two of the three holiday homes and three of the eight safari tents in the park. A third holiday home with magnificent views over the lake and the countryside has been created in a separate part of the barn. Finally, behind the barn there is the heated swimming pool, two smaller toddler pools, the vegetable garden and the other five safari tents.

An authentic and charming property with a particularly relaxed atmosphere.

What do we have to offer?

Spacious safari tents in the park

Comfortable holiday homes on the yard

Table d'hôtes on the terrace

Four times a week we provide a three courses "table d'hôtes". Then we lay a long table in the garden or on the terrace under the large lime trees with white table linen, freshly picked flowers, "brocante" crockery and glassware. We always cook with fresh products which are as local and organic as possible. When the twilight enters, the "glaconnières" are being put to the table with candles in it.
Bar terrace under the lime trees

In the mornings, the children usually get the ordered croissants and baguettes in the "tower shop" which is located on the terrace. Here you can also enjoy an Illy espresso, a children's cappuccino, fresh mint tea, homemade cake or local beers. There are several tables, relaxed chairs and a lounge bed where you can check your mail via the free WiFi. Paula has decorated a nice "Brocante" under the "tower shop".

What do we offer on the domain?

Le Mas d'en Haut is a small paradise that has a lot to offer. Actually, you do not have to leave the domain. The domain is a closed terrain so the children can not easily leave the grounds and therefore the parents are relaxed.
Parents have a view at their children from their armchair or hammock, for example, driving around with the go-kart or playing football. Feeding the farm animals (a dog, 2 cats, 2 pot-bellied pigs, 3 sheep, chickens and bees) is always a great experience for the children. The heated and fenced pool is of course a pleasant refreshment during hot summer days but we also have a shaded terrace with WiFi where you can always go for an Illy cappuccino, fresh mint tea, Gin Tonic, Pastis or a local beer. The children also enjoy themselves with the tree house, the playhouse or the bikes and tricycles.

The green heart.
Authentic France.

What could we propose to do in the vicinity?

If you still want to leave the domain, then there is plenty to do in the neighborhood. No matter the weather is nice or a bit less nice.
There are several lakes and rivers in the area where you can swim, canoe, fish and catch crayfish. You can also go sailing, surfing, water skiing and wakeboarding nearby. And you can let yourself be driven around past all kinds of animals and have fun on a nice farm nearby. You can go to a hill in a forest where there are huge boulders, you can go to a climbing park in the trees, to the wolves forest, to the largest labyrinth of Europe and there is an indoor swimming paradise and for those who love it a ball pit. There are also village festivals with "brocante" or "vide grenier" every weekend and there are also several permanent "brocantes" in the neighborhood. For lovers there is an 18-hole golf course, you can rent bikes and make beautiful bike rides and walks. Finally, there are nice medieval towns, museums and castles to visit.

Doing what you feel like doing.
Nothing is required, everything is allowed.
